Opening keynote speaker: Richard Keech

Richard Keech will be our opening keynote speaker, with the topic Linux-based Monitoring and Control in a Sustainable House.

Based in Melbourne, Richard works as an energy-efficiency consultant after ten years with Red Hat as senior systems architect and chief instructor. Prior to Red Hat he worked as a software engineer and system administrator. He was the first Red Hat Certified Engineer, and the original creator of the rktime utility available on most Linux distros.

Richard was a lead author of the Zero Carbon Australia Buildings Plan released in 2013, with his home as the residential case study.
