First keynote speaker: Vik Olliver

The OSDC 2014 organisers are very pleased to announce our first keynote speaker: Vik Olliver!

Possibly more eccentric than Dr Bunsen from the Muppet Show, Vik was a member of the original RepRap team - the awesome global band of explorers gathered virtually by Adryan Bowyer to work out an open source and cheap design for 3D printers. For all of us who have and otherwise like 3D printers and printing, we owe the RepRap project a grand thank-you. They changed the world.

As for funky ideas, Vik also first came up with the idea of using PLA (poly-lactic acid) for 3D printing. Pretty good, right?

Vik will tell us the earliest and latest on 3D printing, chemistry, economics, and society in general.

The OSDC 2014 team is dedicated to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming conference environment for everyone. We have a code of conduct to clearly outline our expectations. Our goal is to create a safe and harassment-free conference experience for all involved, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, preferred operating system, programming language or text editor.
